Medical Records Technician
The Medical Records Technician provides clerical and administrative support for the Medical Records and Program Integrity (PI) Departments.
In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Covent Bridge Group's objective:
To provide services to our clients that exceed their expectations and contribute to improved healthcare delivery by identifying and eliminating fraud, waste and abuse.
This position will report directly to the Scanning Manager, and will work in our Grove City, OH office.
At this time, Covent Bridge is not considering candidates who require visa sponsorship, currently or in the future, including but not limited to H-1B, H-2B, E-3, TN, O-1, F-1 (OPT/CPT, or J-1 Visa Statuses.)
Responsibilities/ RequirementsResponsibilities:
- Receive, process, and sort incoming medical records from USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, Fax, CD, flash drives, emails and assigned drives
- Open and correctly route all medical record receipts in accordance with distribution and workload processes
- Process all incoming medical records and sort beneficiary information
- Scan records, upload CDs and other electronic media into the processing system
- Clean/organize each batch and perform quality checks per scan team procedure
- Prepare and send completed records for temporary onsite storage
- Assist with QC processes or other tasks as assigned by the Scanning Manager
- Maintain a neat, organized work area
- Attend required education and training programs
- Comply with departmental policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Scanning Manager
Requirements:
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliant medical record processing/procedures
- Keen attention to detail
- Must be able to lift and move boxes repetitively weighing up to 40 pounds
- Proficient with Microsoft systems including Word and Excel
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Familiar with department required equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, scanners)
- Ability to perform record imaging after training
- Record filing and retrieval
Educational/Experience
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivelant
- Prefer 6 months'experience in handling PHI and medical records in a HIPAA compliant environment
- Medical, Dental, Vision plans

The salary range for this role is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
