Production Scheduler

We are recruiting for an experienced Production Scheduler for our client, a growing precision manufacturing company. The Production/Machine Scheduler will lead production scheduling and workflow coordination in a fast-paced machining environment. This role is critical to ensuring customer orders are delivered on time while maximizing machine capacity, minimizing downtime, and keeping production running efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and experienced in scheduling within a CNC manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust daily and long-term production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate workflow across multiple CNC machining centers, balancing priorities, capacity, and machine availability.
  • Partner with Setup, Production, and Operations teams to align schedules for jobs, tooling, fixtures, and sequencing.
  • Provide accurate lead times for customer quotes based on machine capacity, workflow constraints, and production demand.
  • Monitor production progress and proactively identify bottlenecks, delays, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Implement scheduling improvements that increase throughput, reduce downtime, and improve on-time delivery performance.
  • Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and production status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze production data, machine utilization, and capacity trends using ERP/MRP systems and Excel.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and shop efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records and ensure alignment between production plans and operational execution.
Requirements
  • Experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or machine scheduling within a machining environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, setups, tooling, fixturing, and general manufacturing operations.
  • Experience scheduling in a high-mix, low-volume production environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and hold teams accountable to schedules.
  • Experience with multi‑axis machining centers, automated pallet systems, or advanced manufacturing equipment is a plus.
  • Results‑driven mindset focused on efficiency, accuracy, and on‑time delivery.
