SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer is responsible for designing machining fixtures and creating CNC programs so that the team meets expectations (production output, on-time delivery, quality, safety). They will share Advance’s commitment to its core values. Adherence to the core values will be assessed continually and will be reflected in each performance review. The CNC Programmer will ensure that the responsibilities of the position are completed in a manner that is accurate, efficient, timely, thoughtful, honest, and best supports Advance’s mission.

Advance CNC Machining is located in Grove City, Ohio, USA

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpreting drawings, CAD models, and customer requirements in order to determine the optimal machining method
• Create, update, validate and optimize CNC programs for a variety of machining centers
• Designing work piece fixtures and determining tool requirements
• Collaborating with CNC Machinists and the Inspection group to resolve machining issues
• Work with tooling suppliers to procure common and custom tools as needed

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient reading, writing, math, typing, and computer skills
• Extensive knowledge of machining processes
• Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM software, especially Mastercam
• The ability to interpret all types of engineering drawings
• A broad knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, and work holdings, and different types of metals
• Familiarity with G- and M-code for multiple brand controls, especially Fanuc

PREFERENCES

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of setup machinist experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility:
  Often required to sit at a desk and use hands and fingers. Standing for long durations, walking on uneven surfaces, navigating tight spaces; operate power tools and hand tools.
• Manual dexterity:
  Fine motor skills needed for typing, handling equipment, parts, tooling.
• Lifting and carrying:
  Ability to lift shop materials, tools, and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Environmental tolerance:
  Adapting to changing temperatures, humidity levels, and potential exposure to hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
