Patient Transporter-Mount Carmel Grove

Position Purpose

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Patient Transporter transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

Shift details:

• Hours:
  
  11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required.

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or departments. Assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to the morgue.
• Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent, or attending High School.
• Licensure / Certification: CPR “Heart Saver” required by the end of orientation.
• Experience:
  
  Prior work experience in the health‑care field is preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transport patients.
• Ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing and pulling.
