Position Purpose
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Patient Transporter transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

DescriptionShift details:
- Hours:
11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST. - Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required.
- Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
- Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or departments. Assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to the morgue.
- Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent, or attending High School. - Licensure / Certification: CPR “Heart Saver” required by the end of orientation.
- Experience:
Prior work experience in the health‑care field is preferred. - Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift and transport patients.
- Ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing and pulling.
