SUMMARY

The CMM Coordinator is responsible for training, developing, and supporting Programmers so that the team meets expectations (quality, on-time delivery, safety, production output). They will share Advance’s commitment to its core values. Adherence to the core values will be assessed continually and will be reflected in each performance review. The CMM Coordinator will ensure that the responsibilities of the position are completed in a manner that is accurate, efficient, timely, thoughtful, honest, and best supports Advance’s mission.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create inspection plans, inspection reports, ballooned drawings, and CMM programs
• Manage outside CMM programmers to produce quality CMM programs
• Design work piece fixtures and determine tool requirements
• Collaborate with quality and production group to prevent and resolve quality issues
• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts using precision measuring tools
• Review and interpret CMM reports and engineering drawings (GD&T)
• Conduct first article inspections, proof out CMM programs, and support new job setups
• Report and document nonconforming parts
• Prepare inspection tools and ensure calibration of equipment
• Create and maintain accurate detailed inspection reports

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong experience in blueprint reading and GD&T understanding
• Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, deburring, and CMM’s
• Familiarity with general manufacturing processes
• Experience with PPAP and CAPA documentation
• Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and other inspection reporting requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility:
  Often required to sit at a desk and use hands and fingers. Often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Manual dexterity:
  Fine motor skills needed for handling equipment and parts, typing, and writing.
• Lifting and carrying:
  Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Environmental tolerance:
  Work performed in a temperature-controlled environment. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
• Safety awareness:
