This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. Minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for the day‑to‑day operations of the store and promotes a positive, productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction.
A portion of the compensation is hourly wage, with commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay will vary by location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly, professional manner and rapidly addressing issues.
- Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, including cash drawer and merchandise counts, ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Protect assets via inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, store systems, enterprise‑level reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.
- Ensure operations meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes.
- Complete training tasks and self‑development activities.
- Communicate clearly with employees to align on mission and profit objectives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, as required by law.
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Ability to work with firearms and obtain certification.
- May assist customers outside the building or retrieve items from external storage areas.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Flexible to work in multiple locations.
- Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Will work 45+ hours a week; hours based on business needs and not guaranteed.
- Computer‑literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
- Strong multi‑tasking, detail‑oriented, and organizational skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
Commission incentive plan is proprietary. Store Manager Trainees may earn 2‑8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance.
