We are a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses.
The Distribution & Projects Manager will have full responsibility for the two Distribution Facilities in Groveport, OH. In partnership with the logistics departments, the manager will manage priorities between different channels, customers, and order types, perform hands‑on department tasks as required, and lead multiple projects focused on service levels and driving efficiencies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Maximize department performance by directing daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
- Provide leadership, motivation, training, and development for the workforce.
- Manage inventory to ensure products are in stock and meet productivity and service level goals.
- Plan workload and forecast volume.
- Develop and improve business processes for logistics and distribution.
- Collaborate with finance to provide inventory forecasts on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Lead key business projects to develop lean logistics.
- Identify trends, present improvement ideas to senior leadership, and make recommendations.
- Develop an annual plan for improvement initiatives and execute projects according to project plans.
- Build and leverage relationships with functional leaders and internal partners to deliver optimal solutions.
- Create presentation materials for business reviews, including KPI reviews.
- Evaluate gaps in productivity and service balance, coordinate, and lead projects to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor replenishment versus plan daily and recommend corrective action to ensure desired inventory coverage levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics in complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain networks, logistics needs, capacity management, and people management.
- Ability to gather, manipulate, and interpret data; solve problems; predict trends; and establish priorities.
- Well‑organized, self‑motivated, able to meet deadlines, and multi‑task.
- Ability to grow in an international and dynamic environment.
- Experience with SAP AFS, MS Office, and planning systems.
