Position SummaryUTI is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our growing pipeline and facility engineering team. This role blends technical leadership, project oversight, and staff management and development, supporting a wide range of projects from pipeline alignments to complex facility design.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to mentor engineers while maintaining high-quality deliverables and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and mentor engineering staff, including workload balancing and professional development
- Oversee design and execution of pipeline projects (alignments, bore profiles, site development, utility permitting)
- Oversee facility design projects (meter/regulator stations, compressor stations, P&IDs, equipment selection)
- Review and approve engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality and compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards, including Title 49 CFR Part 192
- Support project management activities, including scope development, bid events, scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimating
- Maintain and develop client relationships, including participation in meetings and technical discussions
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations and field personnel, construction inspectors, subconsultants, and project managers
- Support proposal development and contribute to business growth initiatives
- Conduct occasional field visits to support project execution and quality assurance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- 10 plus years of experience in utility and/or facility engineering, or adjacent industries
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D preferred)
- Extensive experience developing detailed engineering drawings, plans, notes, and details
- Experience managing larger, multi-disciplinary projects
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing technical deliverables
- Familiarity with advanced utility permitting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
