Brokerage Operations Specialist

Forward Air is seeking a Brokerage Operations Specialist to support our fast-paced transportation and warehousing network. In this asset-light freight environment, you will coordinate daily brokerage activities for LTL, truckload, and intermodal moves, ensuring shipments are tendered, tracked, and delivered on time and in compliance with safety standards. You will manage carrier and customer communication, maintain accurate data in our TMS, and help resolve service exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day brokerage operations, including load tendering, tracking, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate LTL, truckload, and intermodal shipments to meet service and cost targets.
• Maintain accurate shipment, rate, and billing data in transportation management systems.
• Communicate proactively with carriers and customers on status, exceptions, and service updates.
• Support carrier onboarding, compliance checks, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure safety, reliability, and customer service standards.
• Analyze operational data to identify delays, exceptions, and improvement opportunities.
• Escalate service disruptions and support contingency planning in a fast-paced environment.
