We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planner to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will coordinate material availability and production planning activities to ensure customer demand is met while supporting operational efficiency and company financial goals.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing planning, enjoys solving complex supply chain challenges, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration across multiple departments is essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Planner, you will:
- Coordinate communication between Scheduling and internal departments to ensure production priorities are aligned.
- Confirm material availability to support production schedules and proactively identify shortages or risks.
- Work closely with Schedulers and suppliers to expedite or delay material deliveries as needed to support production.
- Communicate priority raw materials, batches, and finished goods requiring testing or release with Laboratory and Compounding teams.
- Research inventory discrepancies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Partner with Client Services to manage date change requests resulting from material shortages or changing customer priorities.
- Monitor and communicate process order shortages while partnering with Production to resolve issues and support accurate OTIF (On Time In Full) reporting.
- Release production process orders as directed by Scheduling and Supply Chain leadership.
- Prepare production packets and distribute them to Production teams.
- Clear open order reservations and coordinate material receipts and releases to support timely production order creation.
- Provide scheduling support and backup coverage as needed.
- Maintain production planning documentation, S&OP files, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other required documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer, product, financial, and business information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or materials planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
Successful candidates will demonstrate experience with:
- Production planning, demand planning, forecasting, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and OSHA safety requirements
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working independently while contributing to a team environment
- Primarily works in a climate-controlled office environment with regular time spent on the manufacturing floor.
- Must be comfortable working in areas with moderate manufacturing noise.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use hands as needed throughout the workday.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
