Volt is immediately hiring for a Machine Operator in Groveport, OH.
As a Machine Operator, you will be:
- Responsible for moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
- Responsible for assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies.
- Responsible for following safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
- Responsible for operating powered industrial equipment by OSHA guidelines and procedures.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining machines for pipe fabrication.
- Responsible for measuring, recording, and adding random pipe lengths accurately.
- Responsible for measuring and cutting pipe using band saws or torches.
- Responsible for threading and beveling pipes using landis machines, inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.
This is a full-time contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 6-8 months of machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines, and mechanical background.
- 3–6 months of forklift experience
- Ability to use and understand tape measures and gauges for quality checks
- Good computer skills for automated machinery
- Experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication
- Candidates with backgrounds in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment.
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.
* Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
