JOB DESCRIPTIONGENERAL FUNCTION
This role supports Essilor Luxottica’s Mission to help people around the world "see more and be more" by performing routine work in assigned areas that are usually repetitive, requiring limited analysis and use of individual judgement. This position is closely supervised.
The Senior Production Technician provides support to assist the team in meeting the daily production goals as established by the team leaders and management of each facility.

Inspect lenses to ensure that they are optically and cosmetically accurate.

Utilize the bevel wheel to remove the sharp edges of the lens. - Tinter:
Accurately tint all lenses going through the tinting department. - Inspection:
Inspect lenses and frames to ensure that they are optically and cosmetically accurate.

Operate the generator machine used to cut the lenses to the correct prescription.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs any necessary processes and safety check as directed to produce quality prescription eyewear in accordance with work instructions.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Identifies quality, process and work flow problems.
- Works at Technician levels (Associate, Production and Senior) within surface, coating, and/or bench, as needed.
- Adheres to and motivates others to follow the work instructions.
- Proactively identifies quality, process, and workflow problems; informs Supervisor of any outstanding or re-occurring issues.
- Participates in the training of Associates; mentors new hires and cross-trains associates as necessary.
- Actively communicates and shares information and expectations with Supervisor; participates in team meetings and focus groups and offers input on facility issues.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude; treats all associates with respect and dignity. Reports any issues/concerns to Supervisor.
- Actively supports management decisions and communicates concerns when appropriate; assists the Team Leader and Supervisor in the execution of their duties.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area; notifies Supervisor of potential safety/health issues.
- Supports, follows and monitors all safety requirements and provides immediate feedback to all/anywhere necessary.
- Maintains adherence to company policies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years manufacturing/production experience required
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Working in a role with measurable standards.
- Working in a fast paced production environment.
- Depth perception and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Previous experience in an optical lab production environment is strongly preferred but not required.
