Position Overview
The Electro‑Mechanical Technician Level 4 is responsible for day‑to‑day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance of material handling equipment at the Vandalia Ohio site. The role serves as a senior material handling technician and mentors lower level employees.
Work schedule:
4:30PM to 4:30AM on a rotating Panama shift with occasional overtime and weekend work.
Base pay range: $35 to $39.50 per hour, with final compensation determined by work location, education, experience, knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities- Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE), including belt tracking, component adjustments, replacements, and lubrication.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures to ensure systems run flawlessly.
- Apply electrical test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve electrical circuitry issues.
- Build and close work orders in the asset management system, recording labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Troubleshoot conveyance problems, determining resources needed to resolve them.
- Track and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
- Perform complex maintenance and equipment testing to verify they meet world‑class specifications.
- Train customers to operate sophisticated equipment efficiently.
- Respond to service calls, correcting equipment failures and faults promptly.
- Identify and resolve problems as they occur, maintaining our reputation for outstanding service.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or vocational technical training preferred; specialized skill training or certification is a plus.
- 5–7 years of experience in a technical or specialty area.
- Demonstrated track record in the area of responsibility with successful completion of key tasks.
- Strong customer‑facing abilities with professional communication via email and in‑person with onsite customer leadership, company leadership, and technicians.
- Leadership skills to guide projects, manage teams, and advise on day‑to‑day operations.
- Physical capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
- Ability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
- Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and work in various environments (small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures), enduring noise, vibration, and long periods on concrete.
- Strong PLC and electrical troubleshooting capabilities, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
