Operations Engineer, Production Manager
Overview
Coordinates the flow of materials and the filling of Kanbans in a department of the factory, which may include shipping and receiving. Ensures that the production personnel have the parts they need in order to produce the desired product.
Oversees and ensures that the inventory is correct and on time and identifies problems and makes suggestions involving production schedules. Ensures material logistics follow Deere Production Systems principles. Coordinates the activities for the tactical execution of a production plan within a smaller group of the factory. Typically an initial position in the organization.
Duties:
Coordinates department(s) schedule performance for procuring, expediting, the movement of rejected material to source. Recommends procedures for specific situations that will maintain inventory accuracy and management. Finds root cause of material shortages. May provide recommendations for solutions. Utilizes Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules. May include the processing of transactions for inbound/outbound materials. Audits material replenishment cycles and accuracy and may create material replenishment plans with assistance.
Counts and resolves inventory errors and expedites parts to ensure uninterrupted production. Works critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.

As a Material Coordinator for Commercial Products located in Grovetown, GA you will:
- Coordinate delivery of materials to the Point of Use
- Communicate part availability issues and resolution to operations and other key stakeholders
- Utilize SAP transactions to support all aspects of the material delivery process
- Work critical shortage reports to ensure part availability
- Work closely with several functional areas including operations, engineering, supply management, and material flow to root cause and correct material shortages, inventory discrepancies, reporting issues, COGI, and consumption issues
- Implement the output from the engineering release and change management process
- Actively support the Continuous Improvement process and shop floor initiatives
- 2 or more years with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- 2 or more years working in a team environment and delivering expected results
- Proven organizational experience handling multiple projects or tasks
- Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with an emphasis on effective written and verbal communication
- Effective documentation, planning and decision-making skills
- Must be able and willing to work extended hours to support the production schedule, including Saturdays
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with Order Fulfillment, Supply Management, and/or Material Flow processes
- Experience working proactively in a self-guided environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with data, analytics and reporting combined with Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge of Kanban and other delivery methods
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations
- Experience leading meetings and speaking in front of a group
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, or a related field, and/or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
