Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Coor Patient Flow Cath Lab

Overview

Wellstar is seeking a Flow Coordinator for the Cath & EP Labs. The role ensures safe and efficient daily operation, optimal patient care delivery, staffing assignments, and coordination of procedures. The flow coordinator reports to the Cath Lab Manager and/or Department Director and supports Well Star’s mission, fosters collaboration, and upholds professional standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the Cath Lab schedule to ensure a safe environment and efficient procedure flow relative to staff and physicians.

Coordinate daily patient schedules.
Make appropriate staff assignments.
Communicate with the logistics coordinator about equipment issues, new procedures, new equipment use, or experimental protocols.
Coordinate with room team leaders on daily staffing, physician schedules, equipment issues, and patient flow for optimal productivity.

Promote quality patient care and maintain Well Star standards of care. Act as a role model for clinical staff and ensure optimal productivity.

Function as a Cath lab team member during procedures as needed and maintain clinical competency. Available for call if needed.

Provide input to Cath Lab management regarding staff performance and staffing needs.

Collaborate with physicians and extenders on scheduling.
Identify the impact of new technology or products on operations and staffing.
Support and participate in process improvement and adhere to policies and procedures.

Collaborate with clinical educators and logistics coordinators to coordinate ongoing educational activities, provide orientees with experience, address educational needs, troubleshoot equipment, identify needs, and provide feedback on equipment function.

Performs other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Education

Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma;
Nursing degree preferred;
Bachelors Nursing preferred.

Required Licenses and Certifications

ACLS or ARC-ALS or ACLS-I/ACLS-P (within 180 days of hire)
BLS or ARC-BLS or BLS-I
RN—Registered Nurse (single state) or RN-Compact (multi-state)

Experience

Minimum 1 year Cath Lab experience with interventional cardiac procedures.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of invasive and cardiovascular procedures.
Excellent communication skills with physicians and clinical staff.
Ability to work under pressure in emergencies; strong multi-tasking and prioritization capabilities.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate across departments.
Detail oriented with the ability to assess staff skill levels and assign appropriately.
