North Wellington Health Care seeks a casual Ward Secretary for the Inpatient Unit at Louise Marshall Hospital. This role supports healthcare operations with strong clerical and communication skills.

Reporting directly to the Patient Care Manager, you will be responsible for various clerical tasks including processing physician orders and managing patient charts. Your keen sense of detail and organization will ensure efficient operations in the hospital environment, while you acquire new skills in medical terminology and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication and clerical support within the team

• Administer tasks related to physician orders and chart assembly

• Schedule tests and procedures for optimal patient flow

• Update report sheets and maintain filing accuracy

• Provide switchboard support as needed during shifts

Requirements:

• Strong clerical proficiency, especially in word processing

• Experience preferred in unit clerk and Meditech systems

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment

• Satisfactory attendance and reference checks required
