1. New Product Introduction
Support supplier negotiations and contracts for product launches.Ensure contracts reflect launch volume forecasts, ramp-up plans, and potential scale-up needs.Participate in new product development (NPD) meetings to align procurement timelines with product development milestones.Monitor supplier deliverables and escalate potential delays proactively.Oversee supplier and/or supply management for a minimum of six months, or until supply stability is achieved, before transitioning responsibility to the buyer.Weekly forecast monitoring to capture and action deviations in actual versus forecasted demand from prior week.2. Supplier Evaluation
Continuously monitor supplier performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, quality of goods, lead time adherence, and order accuracy. Document issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.Manage the supplier evaluation process, which includes attending monthly supplier review meetings.Maintain detailed records of supplier performance, feedback, and actions taken to address issues.Evaluate potential risks associated with supplier performance, including financial instability, labor strikes, or geopolitical issues that could impact delivery or quality.3. Inventory & KPI Management
Perform regular reviews of item settings to identify opportunities for improving replenishment efficiency and implement necessary updates, including adjustments to safety stock levels, vendor price files, lead times, and item coverage settings.Monitor and manage inventory levels to support the company’s goal of maintaining daily service levels exceeding 98% with a minimum of 4 inventory turns per year.Support the vendor change management process to help control cost increases and drive overall cost efficiency across total spend.Maintain regular stock replenishment schedules for assigned vendors (domestic and international) for all warehouses, including weekly transfer orders.Address stock outs promptly to minimize any impact on sales.Timely attendance of sales meetings to support sales force and promote awareness of purchasing role.Ensure the country-of-origin information for all suppliers is reviewed and updated annually.4. Vendor Management
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors to foster trust, transparency, and mutual growth.Identify opportunities for alternative suppliers or dual sourcing to mitigate…
