THE ROLE

We are looking to add another Wealth Planning Specialist and as an integral member of the ES Private Wealth team, you will partner with our Senior Wealth Planning Specialist, Advisors, Associates, and internal and external partners to deliver comprehensive and customized financial planning and wealth management expertise to our High Net Worth (HNW) clients. You will provide thorough discovery, coordinate with specialized internal and external partners, manage complex financial planning situations, and serve as a trusted resource for the entire team on wealth planning matters.

Job Responsibilities
  • Complex Financial & Wealth Planning – Develop comprehensive financial plans for qualifying clients based on complexity, money in motion, and insurance solutions, and provide ongoing wealth support to team members and clients, including single-issue meetings and strategic guidance.
  • Service Plan & Coordination with Partners – Prepare detailed financial and wealth plans every three to five years for and based on needs, coordinate internal partner meetings (Family Office, HNW, Will & Estate, Philanthropy, Private Banking, Commercial Banking, Financial Literacy, Elder Care, etc.), and facilitate proactive discussions with external advisors (tax, legal, etc.). Be the connective tissue between our clients, partners, and trusted professionals that enables a family office solution.
  • Insurance Practice Management – Coordinate new insurance opportunity meetings with our prospects, clients and estate planning specialist team, manage annual insurance touchpoints, work alongside our internal insurance champion on policy administration, and serve as liaison on all in-force and new insurance matters.
  • Knowledge Leader & Team Resource – Answer wealth planning questions across the team (tax, insurance, financial planning), raise knowledge and comfort levels on complex issues across the ES Private Wealth team through lunch-and-learns and educational content sharing, and provide support for digital content, client presentations, and partner seminars.
  • Business Development & Process Improvement – Build and foster relationships with Centers of Influence (both internal and external partners), make impactful introductions to advance team goals, and continuously review and improve existing wealth planning, financial planning, and insurance management processes to enhance capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Designation
  • 10+ years of securities industry and complex wealth/financial planning experience
  • Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that is professional, warm, thoughtful, and proactive
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present confidently to diverse audiences
CONSIDERED AN ASSET
  • Professional designations such as FEA, CPA, CGA, CMA, LLB, TEP, Master's in Tax (M.Tax), or Completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course
  • Willingness to continue education or pursue more advanced tax and financial planning designations
  • Investment and insurance industry experience
  • Specific experience with RBC Dominion Securities and its applications
