Resumes are being accepted for the position of Supervisor, Corporate Building Maintenance. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Building Maintenance, the successful candidate will lead and manage the City's facilities operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, budget management, maintenance oversight, and quality assurance. This role also involves coordinating preventative maintenance programs, providing input for Council reports, and developing a network of contacts.
Overall, the position supports the long-term direction and efficient operation of City buildings and facilities.
- Responsible for managing the maintenance, cleaning, and repair operations, and capital works in all City facilities.
- Provide leadership consistent with the City’s Corporate Values, and foster an inclusive, respectful, and motivating work environment.
- Ensure proper work scheduling, performance feedback, problem‑solving assistance, and assist with career development and training for program technical staff.
- Ensure consistency with Collective Agreements, health and safety practices, employment standards, and other related regulations and corporate practices as required.
- Identify patterns in maintenance issues/incidents for each City building, while recommending solutions to the Manager to resolve repetitive maintenance problems.
- Provide input for the Corporate Building Maintenance Division for the establishment of long‑term direction and strategic orientation for Community Services.
- Consolidate and review the capital budget of all City Departments related to facilities renovation, expansion, and improvement.
- Prepare the annual work plan and capital and operating budgets with recommendations to the Manager for approval.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of all City buildings, and leased spaces with specifications of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks to be performed.
- Monitor the performance of the Division to ensure alignment with workplans and within budget.
- Assist the Manager in establishing a quality assurance program to monitor the delivery of building maintenance service to all City Departments.
