The University of Guelph is seeking an experienced leader to manage an extensive Athletics and Recreation portfolio starting in late Summer 2026. The Senior Director will oversee a significant operating budget and a team of both full-time and part-time staff. Emphasizing equity, diversity, and inclusion will be essential as this leader partners with the Student Affairs Leadership Team to align programs with the university’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee a $14M operating and $2M capital budget
• Manage 66 full-time and 800 part-time staff members
• Develop programming across various athletic and recreation domains
• Ensure alignment with anti-racist and inclusive principles
• Represent Athletics & Recreation at various levels
Requirements:
• Proven management experience in sports programming
• Strong financial acumen with budget management skills
• Relevant undergraduate or master's degree preferred
• Experience leading high-performing teams
• Deep understanding of compliance and risk management
Lead the enhancement of student well-being through strategic athletics and recreation initiatives at the University of Guelph.
