As the University of Guelph’s Livestock Research Manager in Ariss, ON, you will be tasked with overseeing four vital research facilities. This role involves managing 1,500 animals while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting research by a dynamic team of faculty and technicians. Your strategic oversight will bridge research projects with practical agricultural applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with research leaders for complex livestock trials
• Lead HR initiatives including hiring and evaluations
• Direct 365-day operations of extensive facilities
• Manage multi-million dollar budgets and revenue streams
• Facilitate stakeholder communication and facility transitions
Requirements:
• Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related
• At least 5 years of experience in livestock operations
• Strong managerial capabilities and budget oversight
• Expertise in beef, dairy, and sheep production systems
• Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence
