Alumni Affairs & Development (AA&D) maximizes philanthropic support for the University of Guelph. The Engagement & Development Officer (EDO) helps drive fundraising and engagement for the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC), overseeing the college’s awards portfolio and advancing a campaign to raise $75 million annually by 2030.
Duties and Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the fundraising team, including pledge reminders, cannon support, briefing notes, and thank‑you letters.
- Stewardship: Support the Stewardship Engagement Manager with stewardship activities.
- Award Management: Oversee strategic management of OAC’s undergraduate, graduate, and Ridgetown College Diploma awards portfolios.
- Donor Engagement: Liaise with donors across all portfolios, especially those in the OAC awards and stewardship portfolios.
- Event Management: Plan and execute stewardship events related to the awards portfolio and other engagement initiatives.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in alumni relations or fundraising.
- 4–6 years of experience in event coordination and planning, including event evaluations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- End‑user database experience (query and entry).
- Sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in program development and strategic planning.
- Experience managing volunteers and student employees (recruitment, training, retention, support, recognition).
