Asphalt Operator

Position: Full Time Asphalt Operator
Become an Asphalt Operator with the City of Guelph, a permanent, full-time role focused on road maintenance and winter control. Operate heavy equipment while ensuring public safety in an active traffic environment.

This position offers the chance to work within the Public Works Department, requiring hands-on experience operating various heavy machinery such as asphalt pavers and front-end loaders. Candidates will engage in both summer maintenance and winter control, emphasizing customer service and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment safely in live traffic

• Conduct winter roadway maintenance with plows

• Perform asphalt repairs and road maintenance tasks

• Follow health and safety regulations diligently

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education required

• One year of experience with heavy equipment in traffic

• Valid Class DZ license in good standing

• Familiarity with winter control operations

• Basic computer skills for tracking and documentation
