Position: Public Works Asphalt Operator Role
Become a vital part of the City of Guelph's Public Works team as an Asphalt Operator. This full-time, permanent position focuses on operating heavy machinery for effective road maintenance and seasonal control.

As part of the Operations Department, you will handle various equipment in both summer and winter conditions.

Your role will involve maintaining roadways, ensuring public safety, and fulfilling community service objectives as guided by Guelph’s Strategic Plan. Your performance will contribute directly to a prosperous and inclusive city environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery safely in live traffic

• Perform summer and winter maintenance on roadways

• Complete daily activity logs accurately

• Ensure adherence to safety and operational regulations

• Collaborate with the team to achieve maintenance goals

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education required

• At least one year of operating front-end loaders

• Must hold a Class DZ license with clean record

• Familiarity with equipment used in asphalt work

• Willingness to work outdoors in severe conditions
