Position: Hallmark Field Merchandiser (part-time) Guilford, CT 06437

Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase organizational and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations as needed. On occasion you may also work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.

Salary and Schedule Details
  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
  • We provide paid training, delivered through live, hands‑on instruction as well as virtual classroom training.
  • Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
  • This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours are between 10‑14 hours per week.
  • Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You'll perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The position consists of three major components:

  • Day‑to‑day engagement:
    Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Technology is critical for daily work, communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and completing required surveys. You interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
  • Holiday support:
    Hallmark's operations revolve around seasonal demand. Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you can expect additional days and extended hours. You may be required to work on the actual holiday itself, which may include weekends.
  • Department resets:
    You may be part of a team responsible for installations and various tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Teams are typically notified two weeks in advance and assignments may include evenings or weekends.
  • Team support:
    As part of Hallmark's field organization, you help fellow merchandisers as needed within your territories.
Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor as well as in back stockrooms. You must consistently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the workday and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You must kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the day and may need to climb stairs and step ladders.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Operate a digital hand‑held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
  • Access to Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
