This position exists to serve our members at the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach branches in Birmingham, AL. This is a frontline position. A Member Experience Representative engages members by onboarding them with Alabama Credit Union by opening new accounts and providing a relationship-building experience; assist members with loan request along with assisting them with their financial transactions, involving giving and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments while providing opportunities for members to utilize additional products and services offered by Alabama Credit Union.

Responsibilities
  • Open accounts and assist members with basic financial transactions (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, posting credit card payments, balance transfers, receiving debit card and check orders) accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide information about products and services to members to meet their financial needs and encourage product utilization.
  • Engage members with onboarding and relationship-building activities to support their financial goals.
  • Support a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Assist in handling cash and other negotiable instruments as part of daily operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications: a high school diploma or equivalent, customer service skills, cash handling experience, good computer skills (including the ability to use Microsoft Office products and web-based applications), the ability to follow lengthy procedures for account opening, the ability to describe and sell products and services to members, the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to help others in the community.
  • Other preferred qualifications: one to three years of similar or related experience. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

    Skills:

    Work involves significant personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for first-level conflict resolution, relationship-building, and soliciting cooperation; discussions involve confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact.
  • Physical Requirements: During a normal workday, incumbent will sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, and use gross and fine motor skills for activities such as using standard office machines, handling paper (including counting cash, sorting, and filing), scanning, and occasionally lifting and carrying incidental items such as supplies.
