Part-Time Psychometrist
Responsible To:
Director of Exceptional Education
Job Goal:
To achieve and maintain standards of excellence in the selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of appropriate test and testing instruments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. .
- Alabama certification as a Psychometrist at the master's level or above.
- Minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience or equivalent clinical experience.
- Experience in all types of individual psychological evaluation.
- Knowledge of disability area eligibility criteria and process; knowledge of local service agencies.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups
- Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
- Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the Board may requires.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities.
- Selects testing instruments that are appropriate for each student's exceptionality.
- Administers appropriate individual psychological tests and other assessment instruments as needed for the determination of eligibility for services for students with disabilities.
- Observes the referred student during testing for any language barrier, sensory, motor, physical, or emotional impairment that might require any subsequent specialized testing.
- Arranges for prompt testing of new referrals and timely reevaluation of students with disabilities.
- Plans and implements an efficient and effective process for the determination of eligibility for services for students with disabilities.
- Participates in eligibility meetings to interpret the results of the evaluations administered.
- Participates in the District's professional development for instructional support teachers.
- Makes recommendations based on student assessment results to the IEP team for determination of eligibility.
- Stays current regarding State and Federal regulations regarding students with disabilities.
- Stays current regarding newly adopted intellectual, achievement, and behavioral evaluations.
- Provides in-service education to exceptional education staff concerning the interpretation of test results.
- Provides information, consultation, and assistance to classroom teachers.
- Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
- Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system.
- Maintains confidentiality of student information and decisions related to students.
- Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
Rate of pay: $50 per hour, not to exceed 29 hours per week.
