As a Short‑Term Vacation Rental Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for keeping vacation rental properties well maintained, safe, and fully operational for guests. You will perform a variety of tasks related to property upkeep, repairs, and inspections to ensure a positive experience for guests during their stay.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections of vacation rental properties to identify maintenance issues or required repairs. Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter replacements, appliance checks, and plumbing inspections.
- Respond promptly to repair requests from guests or property management, addressing leaky faucets, malfunctioning appliances, electrical problems, and other maintenance issues.
- Be available for emergency maintenance calls when scheduled to address urgent issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical outages, or HVAC failures.
- Manage inventory and supplies needed for maintenance, maintaining adequate stock levels of items such as light bulbs, batteries, cleaning supplies, and replacement parts.
- Communicate effectively with property owners, property managers, and guests regarding maintenance issues, repair timelines, and updates.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair work, and expenses. Document issues encountered during inspections or repairs and report them to the appropriate parties.
- Conduct inspections before guests arrive and after they depart to verify cleanliness, safety, and working order of all amenities. Document findings and communicate significant issues promptly.
- Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in hospitality or property management.
- Strong knowledge of basic maintenance tasks: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness and safety standards.
- Physical stamina for lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and performing manual labor.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certification or training in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or related field.
- Experience with short‑term vacation rentals or in hospitality.
- Familiarity with property management software for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks.
