Fire Sprinkler DesignersFire Sprinkler Designers create design solutions to meet customer requirements for commercial building sprinkler systems in new and existing facilities. They also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.
Responsibilities- Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD/Revit and hydraulic calculation software per codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and submit plans for AHJ approval.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 12, 13R, 13D, and local building codes.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and verify water supply adequacy.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades during design.
- Review and interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Submit documentation to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s office.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- 5+ years of experience designing/layout of water-based systems
- NICET Level III certificate in water-based system layouts
- Proficient knowledge of current codes including NFPA, IBC, UFC, and related fire protection engineering practices
- Ability to design large and complex projects using standard tools and practices
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and business operations
- Proficient in design/drafting software such as HydraCAD and Revit
- Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual basis
- Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in designing water-based system layouts
- NICET Level IV certificate or Professional Engineering License
- Experience in designing special hazard suppression or fire alarm systems

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, and location.
