A growing multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support a strong portfolio of educational, municipal, institutional, and commercial building projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys remaining directly involved in design and drafting. The position offers exposure to projects from early field investigation and concept development through construction documents and construction administration, with the opportunity to take on greater project ownership over time.
What You’ll Be Doing- Personally develop electrical drawings and designs using AutoCAD and potentially Revit.
- Design building power distribution, lighting, branch circuits, panel schedules, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Prepare one-line diagrams, electrical specifications, calculations, details, and construction documents.
- Conduct field investigations and coordinate electrical requirements with architects and other engineering disciplines.
- Review submittals and shop drawings and support projects through construction.
- Manage several active projects, deadlines, and technical priorities.
- Hands-on electrical design experience involving buildings or facilities.
- Strong AutoCAD drafting experience and the ability to personally produce electrical drawings.
- Experience with power distribution, lighting, panel schedules, one-lines, and construction documents.
- Background with an MEP consulting, A&E, architectural engineering, or building-design firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to work from or relocate to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, subject to any approved hybrid flexibility.
- K-12, higher education, municipal, or institutional project experience.
- Experience with Revit MEP, fire alarm, low-voltage, or medium-voltage distribution.
- FE, EIT, PE, or a clear interest in pursuing PE licensure.
- Remain hands-on with real design rather than functioning only as a reviewer.
- Work across a varied and stable portfolio of public and commercial building projects.
- Collaborate directly with architects, engineers, clients, and experienced firm leadership.
- Competitive compensation DOE, bonus potential, benefits, professional development, and relocation consideration.
Qualified electrical engineers who enjoy technical design and want to grow into greater project ownership are encouraged to apply.
