The Environmental Services Aide maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the Health System. They perform a variety of general cleaning and linen tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility.
The Environmental Services Aide, when assigned, also performs tasks for the laundry/linen division of the department. They restock linen carts and assemble linen packs for Surgical Services, Outpatient Surgery, Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, and Radiology. They ensure the linen is delivered correctly and the right amount has been received; stock the linen room and other assigned areas as needed; and gather linens from designated areas as assigned.

Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six (6) months housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
Reports to: Environmental Services Director
Supervises: None
Physical Demands:Must be able to stand, turn, bend, stoop, lift, climb, and perform various physical activities. Ability to stand for extended periods and walk without undue fatigue is required. Must handle objects and tools; regularly lift up to 25 lbs. May be exposed to communicable diseases, radiation, chemicals, and hazardous waste. Good auditory and visual acuity are necessary, including the ability to distinguish colors for measurements and waste identification.
MentalDemands:
Requires keen mental faculties, good decision-making skills, and superior communication skills. Must be able to work under pressure, handle high-stress situations, and meet deadlines. Emotional stability is essential.
Special Demands:Must possess excellent customer service skills and professional etiquette. Proficiency in computer use, especially MS Outlook, and familiarity with office technology such as telephones and fax machines, are required.
