Job Description /Summary

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Clinical Director shall be responsible for the operation of the facility and therapy services, including personnel supervision, patient treatment and evaluation, clerical tasks, housekeeping, and communication channels with patients, doctors, and administrators.

Performance Requirements
  • Supervising the work of clinical and office staff.
  • Maintaining the physical plant and machinery related to the Therapy Department.
  • Preparing and operating within an annual budget for personnel and equipment.
  • Maintaining records and standards set by relevant professional associations.
  • Interpreting diagnosis and prescribed treatments to maximize benefit and safety.
  • Completing patient records related to physical medicine.
  • Administering treatments and ensuring safety of property and patients.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the President and Vice President.
Job Knowledge
  • Licensure in the State of Alabama.
  • Knowledge of Physical Medicine theory, machine operation, and treatment modalities.
  • Understanding of Human Anatomy, Physiology, and disease processes.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and policies of Encore Rehabilitation, Inc.
Physical Demands

Work is medium; involves lifting, stooping, reaching, talking, visual acuity, and working indoors.

Special Demands
  • Ability to identify problems, organize activities, evaluate personnel, and motivate staff.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse age groups.
  • Ability to perform self-evaluation and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications
  • B.S. degree from an accredited institution; M.S. desirable.
  • Licensing by the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable state.
Primary Duties
  • Supervising staff, monitoring operations, enforcing policies, training, and hiring.
  • Coordinating clinical education and supervising clinical instructors.
  • Performing all related duties as a staff therapist.
