Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Deployment Build Lead to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Build out first level router‑aggregates, build the console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects
  • Any physical requirements are expectations with reasonable accommodations
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction
  • Up to 60% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally
  • Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Moving and lifting computer equipment up to 50 lbs
A Day in the Life
  • Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks entails tracking network rack intake and delivery; working with onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling; and partnering with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready.
  • Engaging in console and room builds to expand space and capacity for customer racks.
  • Collaborating with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
  • About the Team

    This team covers the whole Mississippi region with all sites inside and outside the perimeter. There is travel involved as we move where the capacity is needed.

    Basic Qualifications
    • 1+ years of computer networking experience
    • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Experience in computer networking
    • Experience working with Linux operating systems
    • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
    • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
    • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
    • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
    • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
    • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)

    The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
