Gulfport Behavioral Health System is an acute behavioral health hospital on the Mississippi Gulf Coast providing inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults. We have served our community for over 30 years and our Patriot Support Program provides inpatient around‑clock mental health treatment to help military members and their families, veterans, and first responders cope with stressful issues every day.
PositionSummary
Join our expanding medical staff team where the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner assists in the process of evaluating patients in the outpatient setting. Responsible for psychiatric assessments for patients participating in PHP/IOP programs. Consults with the physician regarding treatment recommendations and referrals. Opportunity to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents, adults, and the military. The position is full time Monday through Friday.
QualificationsEducation:
Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN and completion of a post graduate program for psychiatric mental health nursing.
Experience:
Preferably two or more years experience within a psychiatric setting. A minimum of two (2) years experience in working with an outpatient setting is preferred.
Licensure:
Licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN. If medication privileges are exercised, prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners is required.
