Merchandise and Stocking Associate

Position overview

Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $23.00/hr

This merchandising & stocking associate role supports Sam’s Club members by keeping shelves stocked, ensuring product visibility, and helping guests find what they need. Responsibilities may include moving inventory in the backroom, unloading trucks, fulfilling club pick-up orders, and assisting members while stocking shelves. The role can be physically demanding and may involve tasks such as unloading trucks in the summer and stocking ice cream in freezers.

This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position focused on making members’ shopping experiences easier and more enjoyable.

• Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, guiding self-service technology, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products and services.
• Maintain facility safety by conducting safety checks, following forklift spotting procedures, handling and disposing of hazardous materials per policy, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Maintain sales floor and merchandise presentation by zoning areas, stocking and organizing goods, setting up displays, removing damaged items, pricing merchandise, identifying shrink, and securing fragile or high-shrink items.
• Monitor product quality and rotation, ensure code dating and sanitation standards, and display promotional and seasonal merchandise prominently.
• Comply with company policies and ethics; uphold Open Door Policy in business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments by prioritizing tasks, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners, communicating progress, and adapting to feedback and change.
• Support club pick-up orders by selecting and staging products according to policy and ensuring timely fulfillment.
• Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive, professional attitude.

The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 to $23.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation premiums may apply in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season).
