The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost-efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner. This position consists of electrical and mechanical work, including the installation and maintenance of traffic signals and related devices for MDOT District
6. Incumbents assemble, install, adjust, and repair traffic signal components and overhead flashers. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the maintenance and installation of street lighting; maintenance of mechanical and electrical components of drawbridges; and installation and maintenance of other miscellaneous electrical hardware and devices. Incumbents are subject to call on a twenty-four (24) hour-per-day basis for emergency work and are regularly required to perform aerial work around high-voltage wires using bucket trucks.
