The Station Supervisor will lead, direct, and coordinate ground, line, and cabin service personnel ensuring timely delivery of all services for airlines as contracted. The supervisor is accountable for safety, operational standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance of ramp operations.
Job Responsibilities- Establish shift assignments for full‑time and part‑time employees
- Monitor and ensure safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment
- Report discrepancies—both functional and mechanical—on ground support equipment
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure cargo and baggage services meet needs and on‑time schedules
- Ensure equipment is safe and operating efficiently
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments
- Determine manpower requirements and conduct disciplinary procedures fairly and consistently
- Comply with attendance/tardiness standards
- Perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
- Ensure necessary ground equipment is available in ramp area and baggage room for upcoming flights
- Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, loading manifest, and baggage routing tags
- Follow all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations
- Brief crews before flights on positions to take and flight operations
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, time clock, etc.)
- Experience and understanding of commercial aviation issues
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to process information in a timely manner
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficient speaking, reading, and writing in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Previous ramp or airline experience
- Successful completion of all training requirements and maintenance of certifications throughout employment
- Clear FBI fingerprint background check
- Physically fit to perform job duties, including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
- Will work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noises
- Flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ready to work extended hours on short notice during non‑routine operations
