The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in the successful execution of daily transportation operations by coordinating customer orders, dispatching company drivers, and maintaining clear communication between customers, drivers, plant personnel, and internal departments. This position is responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of customer satisfaction.
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role requiring exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, enjoys multitasking, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service while supporting a high-performing logistics team.
This position is based in Gulfport, Mississippi and is fully onsite, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Participation in an on-call rotation for weekends and holidays is required. The Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the Logistics Manager.
Responsibilities Customer Service & Order Management- Coordinate customer orders from order entry through final delivery
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and other communication channels
- Provide timely delivery updates, confirmations, and proactive communication regarding shipment status
- Build and maintain positive relationships through exceptional customer service
- Schedule and dispatch company drivers to maximize operational efficiency
- Build and optimize driver loads while maintaining delivery schedules
- Monitor trucks and drivers using GPS and fleet tracking systems
- Coordinate transportation activities to ensure timely loading and delivery
- Communicate continuously with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and operational updates
- Work closely with Plant Operations, Tanker Prep, Fleet, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure trailer and driver availability
- Process customer orders accurately within company systems
- Maintain detailed and accurate logistics documentation
- Assist with special projects and additional operational responsibilities as assigned
- Coordinate repairs for truck breakdowns and emergency service needs
- Schedule preventive maintenance with the Fleet Team
- Support drivers by responding to operational issues and after-hours calls during scheduled on-call rotations
- Assist in maintaining efficient utilization of company equipment and personnel
- Respond quickly to unexpected transportation issues while minimizing customer impact
- Identify opportunities to improve dispatch efficiency and communication
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance customer service and operational performance
- Maintain a positive, solution-oriented mindset while supporting company objectives
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of dispatch, transportation, logistics coordination, or related experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based logistics systems
- Experience with fleet tracking or dispatch software preferred (Mcleod)

Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually based on qualifications and experience
