About the Role

Looking to serve as the ultimate technical authority for quality validation in a high-precision smart factory environment? We are seeking a Measurement Systems Engineer to join our team in Guntersville, AL as the plant's high-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for measurement systems, calibration, and dimensional validation.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will execute and sign off on FAIs and PPAP dimensional layouts for new product launches, engineering changes (ECOs), and material substitutions, while leading qualifications for duplicate stamping dies, multi-cavity injection molds, and automated assembly fixtures. You will perform 8D root-cause investigations for complex dimensional escapes (such as terminal backouts or high mating forces) and interpret complex automotive engineering prints applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical experience), backed by 5 to 7+ years of quality engineering or metrology experience in automotive electronics, connector, or wire harness manufacturing. You must demonstrate expert-level GD&T mastery, advanced CMM (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and Vision System (e.g., InSpec for Micro-Vu) programming capabilities, and a deep working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (MSA, PPAP, APQP).

Strong instructional skills to break down complex metrology concepts for shop floor operators are required. ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Calibration Technician (CCT), or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) are highly preferred.

What We Offer

We support our technical SMEs with a competitive compensation package and comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options. You will receive generous paid time off (PTO) and company-recognized paid holidays to maintain work-life balance. To help secure your long-term financial future, we offer a robust 401(k) retirement plan with an immediate company match, alongside continuous opportunities for career growth within an expanding manufacturing facility.

Work

Environment & Physical Demands

This role requires seamlessly moving between a climate-controlled metrology lab and high-volume factory floors (stamping, molding, assembly). Candidates must possess high visual acuity and fine motor skills for manipulating miniature components and micro-crimp cross-sections. You should be comfortable standing or walking for extended periods, able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and willing to strictly adhere to plant safety protocols (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection).
