Dow is excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist at our Fort Saskatchewan site in Alberta, Canada.

In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) management system, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and business objectives while maintaining operational integrity. You will actively contribute to environmental protection, industrial hygiene, and workplace safety efforts within the plant. Your expertise in EH&S processes will be leveraged to guide teams, enforce compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position will also support the Fort Saskatchewan Path2

Zero (P2Z) initiative, which aims to establish the worlds first net-zero emissions site&an essential part Dows Decarbonization strategy.

• Implements EH&S procedures and work processes, ensuring alignment with established safety and environmental standards.
• Maintains compliance with operating discipline by reinforcing environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety measures.
• Acts as a subject matter expert for EH&S policies, providing guidance to plant personnel.
• Functions as the primary contact for resolving EH&S-related concerns within the plant.
• Educates and coaches teams on environmental, health, and safety best practices.
• Assists in setting and meeting EH&S targets at the plant or department level.
• Verifies the completion of all regulatory and compliance-related tasks.
• Conducts environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring, including data gathering, interpretation, and reporting.

• EH&S Knowledge:
  Apply expertise in Environmental Health and Safety to establish and maintain safety protocols within a facility, ensuring continuous improvement through thorough investigations and corrective actions.
• Work Organization:
  Capable of efficiently organizing tasks, setting priorities, and managing stakeholder expectations while excelling in multitasking, problem-solving, and time management.
• Leading Change:
  Actively lead and support the change management process for EH&S projects and initiatives.
• Safety Intervention:
  Proficient in addressing unsafe situations, escalating as necessary, and mentoring colleagues on safe work practices.
• Communication Proficiency:
  Skilled in all forms of communication&written, verbal, visual, and digital&tailored for professional environments.
• Collaborative Approach:
  Demonstrates strong teamwork abilities, collaborating with others to achieve shared objectives.

• At least a High School Diploma or an equivalent GED.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in EH&S, OH&S, or a closely related field.
• For this position in Canada, candidates must be authorized to work legally in Canada. Visa sponsorship or support is not available.

• This role is based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
