Part-Time | 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM (flexible)

The Role The Learning Experience - Gurnee is seeking a dependable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support classrooms during our busy afternoon and closing period. This role helps ensure a smooth, calm end to each child's day while maintaining safe ratios and a welcoming environment for families at pick-up.

This position is ideal for someone looking for consistent afternoon hours in a supportive early childhood setting - perfect for students or those with morning commitments. Additional hours may be available if desired, including occasional opening support.

What You'll Do

* Support teachers during afternoon activities, transitions, and pick-up routines

* Help maintain safe classroom ratios across infant, toddler, and preschool rooms

* Assist with snack, outdoor play, and closing classroom procedures

* Create a warm, welcoming experience for children and families at pick-up

* Help maintain clean, organized classrooms at end of day

* Follow all health, safety, and licensing standards

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required

* Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting preferred

* ECE coursework or CDA a plus

* Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented

* Must meet Illinois childcare licensing requirements
