The Field Service Technician position provides field and inside support activities which include start‑up and in‑service training, corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and warranty evaluations. The technician is required to provide quality, service, and support of all Ohio Medical source air and vacuum equipment, medical gas pipeline equipment, components, assemblies, and sub‑assemblies. Follow company’s ISO, FDA, and budgetary guidelines while minimizing customer down time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives On‑The‑Job Training from FST III to perform start‑up and in‑service training on complex air and vacuum systems, and medical gas pipeline equipment.
  • Performs field service preventive maintenance, component replacement, field service corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting and repair in‑house and field service warranty evaluations on Ohio Medical source air and vacuum equipment, and medical gas pipeline equipment.
  • Follows all appropriate “Standard Operating Procedures” and “Work Instructions”.
  • Assists in investigations and evaluations and provides recommendations as needed in support of company quality policies and procedures.
  • Performs assigned field service work with minimal supervision.
  • Reads and understands mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and product manuals.
  • Provides support for inside aftermarket sales activities.
  • Works on 75% pipeline products and various systems along with other manufactured systems.
  • Limited overnight travel up to several days for field service assignments; occasional short notice.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Requirements

Professional Experience

  • 2–4 years electrical/mechanical experience required.
  • Customer / Field Service experience preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s Degree / Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Work to obtain ASSE Med Gas 6040 Certification;
    Ohio Medical to sponsor.

Language

  • English.

Travel

  • Domestic approximately 40%.
  • International approximately 0%–2%.
  • Frequent overnight travel, sometimes with short notice.

Personal Trait Profile

  • Mechanical, basic electrical troubleshooting and repair aptitude of PLC controls.
  • Pneumatic experience preferred.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Positive customer relations skills.
  • Good documentation practices and attention to detail.
  • Can perform work assignments with little to no supervision.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a passport.
Key Relationships

Internal

  • Reports directly to Service Manager.
  • Works with Service Technicians for technical product questions, training needs and feedback.
  • Works with Sales Team for two‑way feedback on customer issues and sales/service opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Service Department for parts  technical questions on equipment issues.

External

  • Communicates with customers to notify Ohio Medical service department of concerns regarding issue resolution, coordination of service visits, and service contract opportunities.

Pay Range: $53,990.00–$62,218.00
