Public Safety Compliance Officer

The Gurnee, IL Police Department seeks an experienced law enforcement professional to join our team in the role of Public Safety Compliance Officer. This is a non-sworn, civilian position.

The position is responsible for processing of public records requests, reporting crime data, maintenance of records subject to statutory expungement requirements and other duties as assigned. Duties include responding to FOIA requests and acting as Department FOIA officer; assisting with National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS); and juvenile and cannabis offense records expungement.

• Previous experience performing work of the same nature (FOIA’s, expungements, etc.)
• Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) less than full access certification
• Certification by the State of Illinois as a FOIA Officer or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
• Prior experience as a law enforcement officer desirable
• Previous experience / knowledge of  and GovQA software systems desirable
• US citizen or naturalized citizen

anticipated hiring range $79,652 – $87,816 annually, DOQ/E; full salary range $79,652 – $96,818 annually.

Full-time position; 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
