Job Summary

As a Full‑Time associate, you will create exceptional value by delivering the Lens Crafters Experience. You will partner with the Managing Doctor (OD) to ensure all patients receive the highest quality Optometric care and achieve the store’s key performance indicators through seamless integration of the patient journey across doctor and retail functions.

General Function

Create exceptional value in patients’ lives by delivering the Lens Crafters Experience, partnering with the Managing Doctor (OD) to ensure high‑quality Optometric care, and executing flawless patient experiences that link doctor and retail functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure associate behaviors are in place to consistently exceed OD NPS, patient retention, exam, and contact lens growth.
  • Consistently communicate the importance of an annual eye exam; deliver best‑in‑class TAB performance.
  • Attract new patients to the practice.
  • Lead through the OD labor model and assign pre‑test patients for optimal patient flow.
  • Greet patients with a genuine positive attitude without delay.
  • Promptly answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Explain all required paperwork, tests, insurance benefits, products/services, and timelines.
  • Ensure NEE calls are made daily.
  • Contact scheduled patients and remind them of appointments within 24 hours; follow up on no‑shows within 20 minutes.
  • Collect all patient data in TAB, prepare patient charts the night before.
  • Perform assessment, contact lens insertion, removal, and patient care training.
  • Train and certify all newly hired doctor’s office associates.
  • Observe and coach on assessment quality.
  • Order contact lens trials in advance and ensure stock validity.
  • Coach and model presentation of annual contact supply packages.
  • Assist in recruiting and selecting high‑caliber doctor staff.
  • Order physician office supplies on time.
  • Maintain an accurate physician referral log.
  • Provide associate scheduling feedback to the Managing Doctor and Store Manager.
  • Display patience and courtesy with indecisive or difficult patients and staff.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and patient volume.
  • Process, maintain, and file patient records efficiently and in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Collect and capture all patient and prescription information, along with exam fees, into the Point of Sale system.
  • Maintain the office appearance to align with brand guidelines.
  • Champion store promotions and share with doctor support staff.
  • Keep the office clean and free of clutter at all times.
  • Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback to ensure associates exhibit correct behaviors.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Patient service: strong interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Sales skills.
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and solve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and prioritization.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, and/or optical.
  • Two years of optical or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated good ophthalmic lens product knowledge.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: 20.44 - 30.69 per hour.

The employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. A competitive bonus and/or commission plan may be offered in addition to a first‑class total rewards package, including health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and employee discounts.
