Phlebotomist Floater

Float Phlebotomist

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. This role requires working at multiple sites in Waukegan, Gurnee, Round Lake Beach, Zion, North Chicago, and Deerfield.

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Complete administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when required.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience.

• Phlebotomy certification must be from an accredited agency if work experience is lacking.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• At least 21 years of age.

Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:00am–8:00pm and rotating Saturdays. Scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Pay Range: $17.75–$24.50 per hour. Float Phlebotomists may receive an additional $2.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan.

• Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits:

• Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan.
• Those scheduled on a 7on/7off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
