Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary school students in a dynamic educational setting! A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for temporary maternity leave coverage. This onsite role is ideal for those passionate about empowering young learners, specializing in therapy for students with autism within a collaborative, supportive team environment.
In this position, youll contribute 2128 hours weekly (34 days/week) from August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28. Your impact will include:
Responsibilities:- Deliver occupational therapy services in alignment with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Collaborate closely with special education teams and classroom staff to foster student growth, engagement, and participation in both general and self-contained environments.
- Support the functional skills development of students in self-contained autism programs.
- Provide ongoing communication with educators and support staff.
- Document student progress and actively participate in team meetings to optimize outcomes.
Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association or eligibility to obtain it.
- State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License or eligibility required.
- Previous experience in pediatric, school-based, or special education settings is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
