Job Type

Part‑time, Non‑exempt Union position (8 hours per weekend – Saturday or Sunday).

Job Summary

Provides a safe and properly maintained building to enhance the learning environment for all District stakeholders.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
  • Ensure building cleanliness and safety.
  • Act as a daily liaison between staff, community, and School Administration regarding facility scheduling and issues.
  • Assist with snow removal procedures, including shoveling, salting, snow plowing/blowing, and related tasks.
  • Set‑up and take‑down tables and chairs, clean kitchen prep area, handle cafeteria duties as assigned, and support school functions or outside organizations.
  • Perform minor building repairs as assigned, such as light bulb replacement, locker repairs, fixture mounting, and unclogging toilets or sinks.
  • Report defective equipment and unsafe or unusual conditions to the School Administration.
  • Assist with inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Provide general security at exterior doors, question unauthorized persons on property, and perform other security‑related tasks during daily activities.
  • Ensure work orders are completed and appropriate documentation is filed using email and paper documents.
  • Move furniture and paint as needed.
  • Manage trash and recycle removal.
  • Follow the Building Information Book (BIB) outlining procedures.
  • Perform traffic control as needed.
  • Assist other Operations and Facilities personnel as requested by the School Administration, O&F Director/Facilities Manager, or representative.
  • Cover another custodian’s shift due to absences or high workloads.
Other Performance Responsibilities
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the School Administration, O&F Director/Facilities Manager, or representative.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Certification:
    Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Preferred:
    One year experience as a custodian.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Technical:
Must be able to use the district email system, Facilities Scheduling system, Microsoft Office/Google Docs, and the call‑in system.

Interpersonal:
Must work collaboratively with a team, make difficult decisions impacting learning and safety, coordinate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration, and exhibit strong organizational skills and sound judgment.

Terms of Employment

Part‑time position;
Non‑exempt Union position.

Work hours:

8 hours per weekend (Saturday or Sunday).
