Production Operator II

Location: Gurnee, IL
Pay: $19.68–$35.43 per hour (Based on Experience)
Shift: Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule

Join Our Manufacturing Team!

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Production Operators to join a leading plastics manufacturing facility in Gurnee, IL. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, consistent full-time hours, and long-term career growth.

In this role, you will inspect finished plastic products, package materials for shipment, assist with machine operation, and help maintain a safe and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect plastic parts throughout the production process to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identify visual defects such as discoloration, contamination, burns, short shots, and other quality concerns.
  • Package finished products into shipping containers and prepare them for shipment.
  • Print and apply shipping labels using SAP or other warehouse systems.
  • Stack completed boxes on pallets and transport finished products to designated shipping areas.
  • Record production and quality information accurately.
  • Operate molding equipment and perform basic machine operation as needed.
  • Perform secondary production processes such as trimming, reaming, facing, and hot stamping.
  • Sort and rework non-conforming products while following quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and warehouse teams.
  • Complete all required training and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good manual dexterity and color perception.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills required; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and excellent attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.

    Ability to perform repetitive tasks using hands and arms.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
  • Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule
    • Work 2 days
    • Off 2 days
    • Work 3 days
    • Repeat rotation every two weeks
  • Full-time hours with every other weekend off.
Required PPE
  • Steel-toe shoes
  • Safety glasses while working in designated production and warehouse areas

Pay Details: $19.68 to $35.43 per hour
