Jabil has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Supervisor at our injection molding site in Gurnee, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coordinate, and review all activities of QC Inspectors, Technicians, Metrology, and QC Document Technicians to ensure that customers' quality requirements are met prior to product release.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire Quality Control resources; monitor turnover and implement improvements.
  • Identify individual and team development needs; create a cohesive Quality Control team; arrange training and encourage cross-training within the QC department.
  • Establish clear, measurable goals and provide ongoing coaching; solicit feedback from Production Supervisors, Quality Engineers, Work Cell Managers, peers, and team members; manage time sheets and PTO requests; drive continuous improvement in key operational metrics.
  • Coordinate team activities during challenging periods and ensure fair and consistent recognition and rewards in the area of responsibility.
  • Manage internal non-conformances, including trending and status reporting; oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) with cross-functional teams for disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Manage calibration program by obtaining quotes, scheduling service, and maintaining records within the ERP system (EAM).
  • Oversee environmental monitoring program and document deviations from governing procedures.
  • Support NPI and Sustaining Engineering projects to meet timelines; collaborate on product-specific attribute training programs; develop QC Inspectors as attribute SMEs.
  • Create QC shift coverage schedules to optimize resource utilization and backfill as needed.
  • Participate in On Time Delivery (OTD) meetings to align QC priorities with site delivery targets; review and approve change control requests when applicable.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to determine root causes of high-frequency defect codes; periodically evaluate sampling plans to improve efficiency; support audits with objective evidence and guided tours of QC areas.
  • Backfill the role of QC Inspector or Document Technician when necessary; promote a positive attitude and total employee engagement; comply with safety, health, and security procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree preferred; minimum 5–6 years of quality-related experience; some supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings; basic understanding of GD&T; strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English; ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Basic arithmetic, measurement instrument usage, sampling charts, and record control.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Tooling, Facilities, and Materials/Planning.
