Onsite – Gurnee, Illinois

The Chemist I is responsible for formulating and testing cleaning solutions, or the testing of raw materials designed for Household, Institutional, or Industrial markets. The role requires an understanding of product development and design principles, problem‑solving abilities, critical thinking, and innovative thinking. The candidate should be competent in experimental design and execution, data interpretation and analysis, and the use of analytical equipment.

• Develop and evaluate cleaning solutions, and test raw materials used in formulations
• Design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions
• Evaluate literature and various sources of information for relevance, reliability, and credibility
• Interpret and analyze data, discerning patterns, trends, and insights
• Use analytical equipment for data acquisition and interpretation
• Report technical data and information in a clear and concise manner
• Adhere to basic regulatory requirements and safety protocols related to chemical hazards
• Manage resources effectively to meet project objectives
• Oversee projects to completion
• Manage individuals throughout projects, coordinating tasks, responsibilities, and communication

• Solid understanding of relevant methodologies and practical experience in developing innovative and effective products
• Capable of analyzing complex issues, devising practical solutions, and efficiently implementing them
• Proficiency in mathematics, computer skills, and communication is essential
• B.S. degree in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering
• 0–5 years of experience working in a lab formulating and testing cleaning solutions or raw materials designed for Household, Institutional, or Industrial markets

$65,000–$80,000
